As the principal for Studio North Marketing, Cathy Locke brings more than 25 years of experience designing award winning communications programs and strategic plans for clients across a broad spectrum of industries.

Working closely with senior level executives and management teams, Locke crafts positioning and brand strategies for launching, promoting and selling products and services in today's market. From product launches to website designs, Locke approaches each challenge by solving the brand communication problem first, then customizing solid tactical programs to execute the solutions.

Locke is the architect of hundreds of innovative programs for clients as diverse as ITT Mortgage Corporation, Apple Computer, Hewlett Packard, Bank of America, American Express, Kaiser Permanente and more. She has developed company re-positioning plans, product and program introductions, branding strategies, advertising campaigns, and graphics standards systems.

Locke collaborates with entrepreneurs and leadership teams to mold their visions and ideas into market-viable products and services. Examples include a long term relationship with Kaiser Permanente that involved a complete branding overhaul and resulted in re-defining the corporate image and rolling out several new services; packaging and selling the first DSL company prior to first customer ship; re-positioning the image of numerous companies large and small; and designing point-of-purchase materials for American Express' launch of a new insurance product.

Cathy Locke earned a decorated B.F.A. degree in graphic design and packaging from the Art Center College of Design, and her work was been recognized and honored with numerous awards including the Legal Marketing Association's Your Honor Award, International Gallery of Print Excellence's Gold Award, The Art Directors Club's Merit Award, CA Magazine's Award of Excellence, The West Coast Show's Award of Merit, Society of Illustrators of Los Angeles' Illustration West Award and Champion Paper's Imagination Award. She also holds a decorated M.F.A. degree from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco in Fine Arts Painting. Locke currently teaches at the Academy of Art University.
